I'm not much of a writer, so I'll just start with this: hi. My name is Hannah.
I've had many blogs before, but none where I've really exposed myself as a human being. Of course, I like my privacy (and who wants to be judged by unfriendly internet-strangers, really?) but more and more often I'm coming to realize that I have all these ideas and nowhere to record them. There are things about myself that I'm still trying to figure out and work with, and some part of me feels as if writing here will somehow help. Here's a little about me:
-When I was little, I pretended that my life was a fairy-tale and found it difficult to leave that notion behind as I grew up.
-I've never been one of those people who are really, really good at one thing. My parents were believers in having well-rounded children. This has made me both interested in pursuing different things and continuously frustrated with my insufficiency in those things because of never pursuing them thoroughly.
-There are mice in my apartment and sometimes I like to thing they're pets instead of pests.
-I used to be very, very unhappy.
-I think that I learn the most through experience. I have never been able to learn anything from reading a book or from sitting in a classroom.
-Traveling the world is all I really want to do. Last semester I studied abroad in the Netherlands and I miss hopping on a plane every three days to go some place new.
-I screw up a lot, but then I try to compensate by getting up at 7:30 to do the dishes with a hangover.
-I am way too hard on myself.
-I love many things. I love making art. I love all the people that have made me the way I am today. I love my weird family and eccentric friends. I love cats.
-Speaking of cats, I'm definitely a cat person. I'm actually a cat-whisperer. :)
-I once spent a summer sea-kayaking in Alaska.
-There are a lot of empty spaces in my life which people used to fill.
-I'm a performer. There's no adrenaline rush like being on stage.
-I like to wear wigs quite often. I like to apply makeup to my face as if I'm painting a canvas.
-I have a very big heart, and always will.
-Reading people is something I enjoy and am very good at.
Not that anyone is following my blog at this point, but it feels awfully good to write.
